Willow Pond Stables is proud to provide a unique program specifically designed for children from the age of 3 – 5 years. It is built with the understanding of the capabilities and attention span of your wee one.
Every lesson is private and is either 30 or 45 minutes in duration. The lesson consists of handling, grooming, tacking up and riding. The children start riding on a long line that is held by the trainer and gradually as the skill level increases the student learns to ride on their own. All the ponies are voice command trained and are safe and “kid” friendly. |

There are five levels that the rider works towards. The levels have 3-4 riding tasks and 2 equine terms. Each level increases in difficulty. A certificate and badge is given as each level is achieved. By the end of level 5, your child will be able to walk, trot, canter and jump by themselves!! |

Preparing for Lessons |

|
Please note that riding is quite strenuous and that you or your child may actually be stiff from riding. A 15 minute ride even at the walk can be quite a work out, not only physically but mentally also.
To dress for your lesson, come in layers so that clothing can be easily taken on and off. Jeans are preferred and a shoe or boot with a small heal is best (NO rubber boots). |

The lesson will go in rain or shine. If for some reason the weather is absolutely horrendous, we will reschedule for a later date. 2 hours notice for cancellation is required for pony tot lessons. If notification is not made, the lesson is considered taken. All rescheduled lessons must be used prior to the next booked session. |

Parents of Pony Tot riders must stay on the property at all times. You may sit in your car or watch down by the ring.
You may bring carrots or apples as treats for the horses. Theses treats can only be feed in buckets and not by hand. |
